Antu means Sun in the native Mapauche language. This wine is Montgras' exploratory range of wines, which experiments with both classic/traditional Chilean grapes and new varietals. A full-bodied, well-balanced Chilean Cabernet with aromas of blackberry, plum and cassis and toasty oak. Pair with grilled meats.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: rare roast beef, grilled pork chops, blue cheeses.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Big, fun and juicy! Beautiful deep ruby, inky and opaque. Aged in 100% French oak for 14 months prior to bottling. Aromas are profound featuring dark plum, black cherry, cooked strawberries, leather, mushrooms and rocky earth. Also a faint whisper of vanilla bean. Flavours are complex and evolve with; cassis, blackberry, earthy tobacco, cedar cigar box, dark chocolate and spicy red bell peppers. Medium plus acidity, with a full rich velvety body and tannins. Decadent and delicious. Ready to drink now, but can further age 5-7yrs. Enjoy in harmony with a juicy big steak, aged cheeses and sausages. 89 Points -tasted February 2018
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Concentrated flavours, full bodied, dry. Plum, blackberry, with a specific iodine / iron minerality. Tasted 2015 vintage Dec 2017. 87 points
MontGras Antu (2015) is a great value, full-bodied Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Valley. The wine matured 13 months in oak before bottling. - Community Wine Reviews
