From the Colchagua Valley wine region, Montes Purple Angel 2020 is a vibrant, elegant and hedonistic red wine blend of 92% Carmenère and 8% Petit Verdot with 70% of the wine aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. Deep carmine-red in the glass, fragrant with ripe black and blue fruits, including blackberry, plum, and blueberry, lush with plushy on the palate with velvety tannins. Absolutely drink now or cellar to 2030.

Food pairings: veal roast, slow-cooked brisket of beef, rabbit fricassee.

Reviews and Ratings

Montes Purple Angel 2020 is a vibrant, elegant and plushy red wine blend of 92% Carmenère and 8% Petit Verdot with 70% of the wine aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. Look for ripe dark berry, chocolate, sweet tobacco and spicy notes on this powerful red wine blend from Chile. Grapes were sourced from the Marchigue and Apalta wine region. Good now, better in 2024. - Community Wine Reviews
