Reviews and Ratings

Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Oct 23, 2014: Tasted blind at NCSG Vintage pre-release event.
Dark ruby/purple, the nose is deep black fruit, licorice, earthy mineral, leather, oak spice and a bit volatile/alcohol. Full bodied, chalky texture with deep black cherry, grapey, blackberry, stewed fruit, pencil lead/cedar notes and a medium length finish. Fairly high acidity and fruit to balance the tannins. Best to let rest for another year or two and drink over the following four to five years. Grilled steaks would be my choice for this.
The dry vineyards of the coastal inland of the Pacific Cordillera enjoy a warm climate for Syrah. The 2010 vintage of this full-throttle Chilean red wine features Syrah grapes from the Cordillera line, which the winery creates in small-batches, artisanally. Grapes grow on vines more than 12 years old. Pair with rack of lamb. - Community Wine Reviews
