Full-bodied and delicious Italian red wine from the Veneto region. Lovers of Amarone will love this bottling as it offers a full-palate-flavour of fleshy black cherries and blackberries. There's also some dried herbs and dark spices on the finish. Powerfully crafted for pleasure. Match it with a New York steak. Highly recommended.

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico food pairings: ribeye steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby garnet with thick slow moving legs. This is one rich full-bodied wine. Imagine grapes drying on woven straw mats (appassimento) under warm Venetian sun concentrating the sugars and flavours. The result in this Amarone s concentrated aromas and flavours of black plum, black cherry, cassis, fig, prune, raisin, vanilla, sweet spices, clove, barnyard, leather, wet earth, must.Tannins are evident but not detracting. Medium+ acidity. Drink now with potential to age. Weighty food a must. Fine cuts of beef, hard salty Italian cheeses, blue cheese, dark chocolate.
