Juicy and succulent with lip-smacking flavours of fleshy blueberries. Fresh, aromatic nose of purple plums and blueberries. Darker on the palate with acidity and some sour fruit. Full-bodied and smooth. Pair with barbecued ribs.

Garnacha food pairings: braised beef dishes, turkey, soft cheese, roasted pork.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

From Aragon, Spain, made entirely from 80-yr-old local Garnacha, aged 8 mos in French & American oak. Fragrant ripe raspberries, vanilla, spice and toast aromatics followed by a palate giving ripe raspberry jam, vanilla, allspice and minerality, with bright acidity and long raspberry liquor finish. Excellent value.

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Delicious and the price is right! This Garnacha is packing juicy berry notes including: raspberry, cherry, and blueberry. Overall, this Spanish gem is medium bodied, easy drinking with moderate tannins and a much appreciated sky high acidity, simply leaving the palate salivating for another sip. Enjoy pairing this Spanish red with cedar-planked salmon. It's a sure-fire BBQ crowd pleaser. Tasted July 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Marco Giovanetti rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

On the nose notes of black fruit compote with vanilla cream and seasoned oak. On the mouth, generous with ripe fruit and sweet and supple tannins. Good balance between concentration and acidity. Perfect with pulled pork bbq sandwich
Produced by Vinedos Y Bodegas Pablo, Menguante (2014) is a deep-red wine made from the native Grenache grape. This winery is located in Sistema Iberico in Aragon and vineyards are 550 to 750 metres above sea level, creating a wide variance between day and night temperatures and allowing the fruit to ripen, but still remain fresh. Old vines are between 30 and 80 years of age and the wine was aged 8 months in French and American oak. Menguante is strawberry, raspberry jam on the nose as well as on the palate with a spicy finish. - Community Wine Reviews
