You gotta love the name of this wine. It actually refers to the three grapes in the blend: Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. There's even more to love inside the bottle: lusciously ripe dark plums and berries with some black raspberry on the finish. Rich flavours and firm tannins give this wine heft and grip. It's full-bodied yet supple. Rich and decadent. This wine will be back in stock July 9, 2011. Terrific value: top me up!

Reviews and Ratings

Guy Delorme rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Great name, that what sells this wine. The ripe plums and berries are there. The tannins are firms but smooth. Medium acidity, full bodied.
Ok but 2007 and 2008 were much better.
In rating, not more than 85, beeing generous.
Erin De Santiago rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

While this wine is not likely to score 90+ points anytime soon, it is a good (and fun) wine to have on hand for parties or nights you don't feel like opening an expensive bottle. The California Red Ménage à Trois is a blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. It is produced by the Folie a Deux Winery in Oakville. The 2008 Ménage à Trois has ripe jammy flavors and an element of spice from the Zinfandel. Especially given the price point, you won't go wrong by having a few of these bottles on hand as daily drinkers.

Reverse Wine Snob reviewed this wine as follows:

The 2009 Folie à Deux Ménage à Trois is a very sweet, albeit somewhat thin, wine. It was a little sweeter than I prefer, but my wife liked it quite a bit. Overall nothing spectacular but this is a solid, easy drinker that's only $7.49. I can see why this wine is quite popular for some. Try pairing with spicy foods to offset the sweetness a bit.
