Founded in 1859, the house of Louis Jadot has been making wine in Burgundy for generations. This is a mature Burgundian Pinot Noir now displaying attractive tertiary aromas such as wild violets and truffle, along with black cherry and spice. Pair with veal chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Alex: Lovely perfumed Volnay fragrance to the '09 clos de la Barre, it's akin to the intoxicating scent of a butterfly bush - with the addition of sweet strawberry-pomegranate fruit, vanilla candlewax and mint. Silkily textured, very pretty with florals and spice on the palate, gentle tannins, taut acidity and a refreshing minerality. A lighter, feminine style of Burgundy that's very enjoyable - but the prices continue to rise - now $98. *Sigh*.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
