One of the best values on the liquor store shelf. This lovely, floral, light-bodied German Riesling still packs lots of flavour. Serve chilled as an aperitif or companion to seafood.

Riesling food pairings: pork tenderloin, turkey breast, spicy pasta dishes, shrimp tempura.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Outstanding value in this fragrant medium-dry Riesling. Showing peach with slight mineral and citrus on the nose, then a lovely palate gives peach, lemon and subtle minerality. Satiny texture, very good structure and balance, crisp acidity and a long peach/lemon finish. Worth buying two at this price!

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Wonderful Mosel Riesling with typicity. Great value. Consistently great year after year. This valley was first cultivated by the Romans and Dr Loosen is still doing a great job with the fruit and vinification in this vintage. Off dry. Rich supple fruit, well balanced high acidity and declared abv 8.5% ABV. Ripe peach and ripe Bartlett pear, big honey. Paired excellently with pad Thai, Asian stir fry and would pair well with sushi. Tasted 2014 vintage in Nov 2017. Rated 91/100. #bespoketastings
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Incredibly drinkable - compelling - quaffable - sharable. It is a great example of Mosel Riesling. Mosel is on eof the most renown regions worldwide for quality Riesling. The steeply inclined vineyards (heavy in slate) make concentrated, ultra ageable (even in the bottom tier) wines.
This wine is a pale lemon colour and is exploding with tropical fruit and crystalline pineapple and a dash of wet rock and fern.
Flavours of nectarine, starfruit, with a green snap.
Fun and tasty. Put this wine with perhaps an avocado salad to keep things fresh and summery.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lovely! Aromas of nectarine, peach, and stony minerality. Light bodied, medium acidity, smooth and fruity on the palate. Enjoy with seafood dishes and could even stand up to a bit of spice.
Paul Daeninck rated this wine as 89/100
Produced by Weingut (winery) Dr. Loosen, the Riesling grapes for this white wine grow on vines planted on steep vineyards in slate soils of the Mosel region. - Community Wine Reviews
