From the Rioja wine region, Licenciado Reserva 2019 is a great value 100% Tempranillo at $20. Fragrant with rose petals, violets, ripe dark plum, blackberry, savoury herbs, minty, smoky and spicy flavours generous and lingering on the palate, it is drinking beautiful now through 2028.

Food pairings: grilled steak, pork chops, lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Lovely deep purple Rioja Reserva, pronounced nose featuring vanilla, baking spice (primarily clove), black plum and cherry. Rich and velvety in the mouth with a lovely silky feel, and tastes of vanilla, concentrated black plum and cherry, cloves and vanilla.
It is dry, full bodied, with medium tannin and acidity. Paired beautifully with roast beef crusted with rosemary and pepper. Pleasure to drink with food or on its own.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
