Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review: Lenz Moser This "nobly sweet" dessert wines has a beautiful aromatic nose of honeyed peach, nuts and candied citrus peel. The luxurious palate repeats same with a touch of marzipan. A satiny, rich mouthfeel and a very long luxurious finish show you why it is called "Austria's liquid gold". Great gift wine for Mother's Day - she deserves it!
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review: Amazing rich and complex austrian dessert wine. Honey, roasted apple, nutmeg, clove, apricot jam. Pair with vsimple vanilla ice cream, or may favorite dessert - cheese try. Pick sharp, tangy cheeses such as blue cheese, goats cheese, and aged cheddar.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review: This is a fantastic sweet wine from Germany presenting a gorgeous, shimmery golden color in the glass. Luscious dried apricot, honey, citrus preserves and sweet spice pleasantly dance across the palate. Pair this wine with blue cheese or peach flan. Tasted January 31, 2016.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review: Liquid gold from Austria, this lusciously sweet and rich dessert wine is so flavourful and balanced with refreshing acidity that cleanses the ultra rich palate. Enjoy with sweet desserts, such as creme brulee, apple pie, or poached pears. Tasted January 2016. 94 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Cora Beaulieu rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review: This Austrian dessert wine, made in the classic botrytis-style, is lustrous old gold or amber in color. It has distinct and marvelous aromas of honey, ripe pears, golden delicious apples and apricots complete with hints of burnt brown sugar and candied orange. Sweet, medium-full bodied, fresh and smooth in the mouth while still being rich and complex on the palate. The scrumptious flavors in this dessert wine are absolutely mouth-watering, sweet baked apple, dried peaches, apricots, honey, golden raisin compote with toasted almonds. The creamy finish is rich and mouth-coating with decent acidity and hints of marmalade, toasted almonds and perfect flinty mineral accents. You could sip this wine on its own or pair with a cheese plate, especially blue cheese or dessert (we had a delish cheesecake with chocolate drizzle.) This wine is a steal.
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review: The Lenz Moser Prestige Trockenbeerenauslese 2012 is a great dessert wine. Aromas and flavours of peach, apricot, candied fruit, honey and nuts. Tasted January 31, 2016 (93/100)
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review: A rich orangish gold colour, that has an incredible nose of dried apricot, tangerine, peach and candied orange. On the palate it is rich, sweet, and smooth. A great sweet wine that would stand up to most deserts, but would be best with a peach cobbler with whipped cream.
Valérie Dufour - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review: Nice pear compote aromas. Delicious mouth full of marmalade and a touch of smoke on the (very long) finale. Good value for a dessert wine and would be perfect with crème brûlée. Delicious.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review: Interesting dessert wine… Presentation: Classic, formal. Appearance: Light burned orange Nose: Sweet citrus, honey Taste: Sweet orange, caramel, cooked peaches. Finish: A little syrupy, caramel. Overall impression: Different in a good way. May be too sweet for sweet desserts but good with cheeses or dark chocolate Value: 3 out of 5
