Intense Ripasso Valpolicella Classico with vibrant dark cherry, plum, fresh mushroom, savoury herb and spicy flavours on the palate. The Ripasso method adds to its richness, depth and flavour to the finished wine. The Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone wine grapes for this vintage were sourced from Le Ragose's high-altitude, low-yielding vineyard.

Ripasso Valpolicella Classico food pairings: hearty meat dishes, coffee-rubbed grilled chicken, steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

From the original Valpolicella region (Classico), this wine uses partially dried grapes to add richness and intensify flavour, and is aged at least a year (Superiore). On the nose there are aomas of black cherry, dried herbs, leather and black pepper. Bright acidity, medium bodied, with ripe and slightly tart berry on the palate, along with leather and a slightly raisin note, with a spicy finish. Enjoy with charcuterie or a robust spicy sausage pasta.
Le Ragose 2014 Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore is a rustic and juicy red blend from the Veneto wine region. Liquid dark cherries, earthy blue florals, dried herbs and smoked meat flavours smooth and satisfying on the palate. Great structure and acidity for food. The grapes for this wine were sourced from Le Ragose's high-altitude, low-yielding vineyard. Pair with a venison steak and sautéed wild mushrooms. - Community Wine Reviews
