Lazzeretti's Brunello Di Montalcino (2008) is so aromatic. Black cherry and violets on the nose and plenty more on the palate with good acidity and a long finish that keeps you interested and wanting more. Yes, it is pricey. And you are worth it. Such an exotic nose of wild violets, feral underbrush, truffle haunted forests and a mysterious smile of satisfaction. This Brunello has many years ahead of it, unless of course, you can't resist drinking it. A DOCG wine that has such lovely replays of flavour across the palate, including coffee, spice, mocha and dark berry. This robust red wine cries out for a hearty meat dish. Listen to this wine and you'll have a terrific meal! Pair with venison tenderloin.

Brunello Di Montalcino food pairings: roast venison steak, rabbit tenderloin en croute.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This Brunello di Montalcino is cherry coloured with an orange hue and has aromas of autumn leaves, pot-pourri, dates, and fruitcake. On the palate, there are dark dried fruit flavours and structured tannins which are balanced by the fresh acidity. The flavours linger on the palate.

Tasted January 2018
Lazzeretti 2012 is a sensuous Brunello Di Montalcino from the Tuscany wine region. Lots of dried cherry, plum, savoury spice and fresh wild mushrooms flavours on this elegant medium-plus bodied red. Great structure and balance on this wine with silky tannins and a loooong, smooth finish. - Community Wine Reviews
