Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A lighter style Cab Franc from France's Loire Valley. Fragrant, supple, layered and smooth, showing lots of tart cherry, blackberry, finely integrated spice, herbal and earthy notes with just a touch of violets. Good acidity and a very long fragrant finish with lots of milk chocolate. Delightful!
Wineboy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Classic Loire Cab Franc, showing pencil shavings and cherry. A hint of tannins add complexity, in a lighter bodied wine. Try a Cab Franc again!!!
Neil Phillips rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Bourgueil is in the Loire, producing lighter reds made exclusively from Cabernet Franc.

This expression is light garnet in colour, with a nose of soil, cherry, cranberries and slight herbal and capsicum notes.

Red fruits predominate, with a savoury backbone. Light on the palate, with great acid to make this incredibly food-friendly and versatile. Serve slightly chilled.

Tasted February 2016.
Mymi Thesingingsommelier - Sommelier, FWS rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Established in 1985, Domaine Laurent Mabileau lies on a 28 hectares vineyard in the Bourgueil and Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil appellations in France’s beautiful Loire Valley. Laurent believes in fair environmental winegrowing to protect the soil’s natural balance, allowing it to express terroir in his wines.
The Domaine produces wines uniquely made from Cabernet Franc.
The 2013 is light ruby red in color with subdued earthy, minerally aromas as well as sour cherries, little toasted marshmallow and a touch of fresh hay.
Low intensity on the palate with a great acid/tannin structure. Elegant and delicately fruity, earthy & smoky, it is a great representation of the St Nicolas de Bourgueil AOC.
This French red wine from the Loire Valley is made from Cabernet Franc grapes. Notes of bell pepper. - Community Wine Reviews
