Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Ruby red with violet hue. 13.0% abv. This is a gem offering great value. Elaborated by 3rd generation winemaker Morgan Zaninovich. This wine offers ripe blackberry and strawberry, new leather, baking spices on the nose and palate. A full bodied, well balanced fruit forward wine from a family owned and family farmed winery. A party pleaser guaranteed and accessibly priced. Designed for enjoying with or without food. Well integrated now, enjoy. @jonsteeves rated 91/100 tasted April 2016
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lander-Jenkins Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the finest California Cabernet Sauvignons you can buy for under $20. Each year this proudly family owned and family farmed winery, headed by Morgan Zaninovich (a 3rd generation winegrower), produce this super popular style of California Cabernet that shows the best of this storied grape at a bargain of a price. 100% sustainably grown fruit, showing ripe raspberry, blackberry, plum, mocha, baking spices, herbs, and a touch of forest floor give this popular Cabernet a rich and complex profile that shines when enjoyed with BBQ fare, lasagna, or campfires and close friends. Enjoy 2016-2020. For an extra special treat, try Lander-Jenkins Cabernet Sauvignon with marinated grilled rib-eye steak with roasted pepper salsa and fresh corn fritters! Tasted March 2016. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A fantastic California Cab Sauv for a bargain! This Cab shows pronounced jammy berries, cocoa, vanilla bean and leather on the nose. The palate shows an equally intense flavour profile with concentrated cooked berry notes, leather, eucalyptus and wet stone minerality. This California red also hits the high note on acidity. This wine is mouth watering with tame tannins and a polished mouthfeel. Enjoy paring this medium bodied with hearty stewed tomato based dishes such as ragôut, lasagna or pasta bolognese. Tasted April 2016.
Liquid fudge on the nose and palate with chocolate, cocoa and mocha to follow from lavish oak aging. Morgon Zaninovich is the third generation of his family to make wine. Sweet finish. - Community Wine Reviews
