Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A shining clear pale gold colour with a lively bouquet. Aged with controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Ripe peach, mandarin and sweet white blossoms. A note of spearmint adds to the freshness with some salty white pepper. Also a touch of dried apricot. Flavours are bright; pink grapefruit citrus, starfruit, nectarine and yellow plum fruitiness is also met with chive and cilantro herbal touches. An element of salty snow peas accompanied by stony minerals makes this very crisp despite it fruit forwardness. Medium plus marked acidity with a crisp yet soft medium minus body and finish with yellow bell peppers and honeydew melon notes persisting. Refreshing, clean and elegant. Incredibly food friendly. Pair with calamari, scampi, grilled octopus roasted seasoned chicken and mussels. 90 points - January 2018
Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Juicy and sweet aromas of ripe pear, honeydew, and lychee, as well as floral notes. The fruit follows through on the palate. It has crisp acidity and a slightly bitter finish.

Tasted November 2017
La Fortessa Taburno (2016) is made from the Falanghina white wine grape which may have its ancient roots in Greece. This dry, smooth and rich white wine from the Campania wine region is zesty with citrus, white flowers and ripe pear on the nose. Wine grapes are sourced from the Sannio area, where the grapes flourish on hillside sites, maximizing critical sun exposure. Lovely and long, the wine finishes spicy, tasty. Pair with grilled Mahi Mahi. - Community Wine Reviews
