So beautifully perfumed with rose petals and violets and sweet cherry fruit. This pinot seems to get better every year: it’s a hedonist’s dream.

Reviews and Ratings

Taylor rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Melissa Stackhouse, a fantastically talented Pinot and Chardonnay winemaker who now works at J Winery, made this RRV Pinot. I’ll be watching to see if La Crema's Pinots remain as tasty without her.

This is a light-bodied Pinot Noir from cool climate Monterey that has refreshing, food-friendly acidity with ripe plum, candied cherry, slightly earthy green tea, some oaky tannins and raspberry on the finish. Lovely, lively, elegant. Almost perfect. Around $25. Hopefully I won’t miss you Melissa.
Joel Baxter rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Not everyone appreciates a California Pinot Noir. Some find it too candied and not as elusive and teasing as an old world Pinot Noir. I absolutely love the subtly sweet strawberry, cherry and plum flavours in this light red. Perfect with Salmon, versatile enough to charm lamb, duck and chicken.
Deeply colored. Highly perfumed with Bing cherries, strawberries and a touch of baking spice. Tasty strawberry and cherry fruit which is fully ripe and moderately dense. Soft and plush on the palate with supple dry tannins. Easy to drink and in character for the Russian River Valley AVA. Good (+). Source: princeofpinot.com
