A full-bodied, well-rounded, buttery wine with lovely balancing acidity and citrus fruit notes. Ideal for roast chicken or seafood with cream sauces, as well as lobster in butter. The Chardonnay grapes for this Californian white wine are a regional blend from vineyards in the Russian River valley. Finishes with nuances of fresh golden apple, pear and crème brûlée. Pair with roast chicken.

Chardonnay food pairings: toasted ravioli served with Alfredo sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This label has long been one of my go-to wines for gifting or entertaining. You are getting a bottle of California sunshine when you purchase La Crema Chardonnay. Brilliant sunny lemon colour fills the glass. Rich aromas of apple, pear, white stone fruit, pineapple, toasted oak, butterscotch and vanilla. The palate is voluptuous with creamery butter and vanilla finish. The acidity is cleansing and balanced. It's always a pleasure tasting this wine. Perfect pairings: shellfish, turkey with stuffing, shrimp in lobster sauce.

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

An elegant nose shows pear and subtle buttered toast. The rich palate shows creamy ripe pear, vanilla and butterscotch with a velvety, creamy mouthfeel and a delicious long vanilla pear finish.
The 2013 vintage of the Chardonnay Russian River is all barrel-fermented and all of the wine undergoes a malolactic fermentation to soften the acids. The wine is aged for 8 months in 30% new French oak barrels before bottling. - Community Wine Reviews
