A breezy, hedonistic hallway of cool mint and fleshy ripe blackberry on the nose of this lovely, aromatic Californian Cabernet. Juicy and savoury with enticing herbs and meaty notes mid-palate. Very intriguing. Full-bodied and smooth with some dark spices on the finish along with cedar brush. Highly recommended.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: chicken cacciatore, beef stew, strong cheeses, Margherita pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A seduction wine with perfumed nose of blackcurrant and ripe cherry aromas. Luscious palate continues with sweet spice, mint and mocha woven into a sensuous, silky mouthfeel. Elegant lingering finish. A clear choice with prime rib, but so flavourful, you could easily sit and sip this one by the fireplace apres-ski.
Tasted Jan. 2018

Cecile rated this wine as 92/100
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Cherry, cassis and plum notes with subtle spice notes on the palate. Finishes with moderate grippy tannins. Pair with grilled meat. Tasted July 2018.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

love this cabernet for the price. It still has the vanilla, oak that a typical california cabernet has but this one offers a good depth and grippy tannin. It can easily go against any $40 or $50 napa cabernet in LCBO for the price of $26.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Big and bold, full bodied California Cab. Crowd pleasing nose and palate. Juicy, ripe strawberry, blackberry dominant. Well balanced, medium plus tannins, integrated alcohol. Paired well with bbq chicken and ribs. Tasted 2015 vintage in Feb 2018 after a 1h decant. 90 points. #crowdpleaser #goodvalue
Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Reliable. Dependable. Smooth and juicy like a well made Californian Cab should be. A generic style of wine with fruit sourced from 6 regions across California. 10 months of oak with 25% new American oak. Plump blackcurrant fruit, a whiff of leather and a long mellow finish. Try it with tomato, olive and mozzarella meatballs
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Always a great choice, and a crowd pleaser that tastes above its price point. Lots of mocha, ripe berry, currant, and a hint of mint mingle on the nose of this wine which made from the blending of selected grapes from across different California regions. Smooth, ripe berry and mocha flavours come through on the palate with smooth tannins. Enjoy this with a marinated flank steak or anything else you might throw on the BBQ.
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted Dec. 30, 2017. Colour, ruby red plus with thick legs minus. Aromas and flavours of, dark cherry, red pepper, baking spice, vanilla. Taste dry, medium plus mouthfeel, with medium fruit, mouthwatering tannins grippy minus. Finishes with fruit and watering mouth, medium plus. I had this wine with a nice strip loin steak and mushrooms. Easy to drink lots of flavour, very pleasing, highly recommend and good value.
California winemaker, Joel Gott is well-known for the quality of wine he produces and this California Cabernet Sauvignon from California will not disappoint. The wine grapes for Joel Gott 815 (2015) were sourced from Napa, Lake County, Sonoma, Santa Ynez, Happy Canyon, Monterey, Paso Robles and Lodi. This is a juicy, savoury Cabernet Sauvignon with dark cherry, dried fruit and cedar spice on the finish. - Community Wine Reviews
