The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this full-bodied, generous Australian red wine were grown on the Coonawarra Terra Rossa "Cigar Strip" in the heart of the Coonawarra wine region in South Australia. This layer of rich, red stone over limestone produces the vibrant red and dark fruit character in this wine. Juicy and tasty! Fleshy ripe blackberry and black cherries lead on the nose. This is classic cool-climate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon offering dark spice and racy acidity on the finish with deep and satisfying hint of mint refreshment. Pair with grilled meats.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: hamburgers , pulled pork, venison burgers, hard cheese, prime rib.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The LCBO has worked their magic with the pricing of this wine. This wine has gone down, not up in price, and the quality seems to maintain or improve year over year. The 2016 is fresh, with the core of black plum fruit and berries welcoming the classic Coonawarra mint and slight eucalyptus note on its periphery. This wine continues to demand fatty ribeye steak or lamb shanks. 91 Points.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Very interesting wine. Aromas of dark berries, chalky stone, mint, leather and sweet tobacco. Full bodied with grippy tannins, and bright balancing acidity. Dark fruit on the palate and a spicy finish. Enjoy with any grilled steak or game sausages.
