Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Lots of resinous oak in this wine along with dried fruits and some dryness from crisp acids. Perhaps dryer than some Spanish reds but this makes it more food appropriate. BBQ pork or BBQ chicken with smoked paprika.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

From the well renown Rioja region comes the well-made Izadi 2013 Reserva wine. Made from 100% Tempranillo, this Spaniard shows aromas of dark skin plum, blackberry, black tea, hay, smoke, pepper and oak. Quite balanced, this Wine reveals a full body with a pleasant smoky finish. Tart plum, hay, tobacco, pepper, crush almond with an oaky finish will satisfy the Tempranillo amateur’s palate. Pair with sausage and Flamenco music. Enjoy!
Izadi Reserva 2013 is a great value Rioja under $20. Lots of ripe black fruit and spice with firm tannins on this Tempranillo. Could benefit from cellaring for about three years. The word "Izadi" means Nature. The vineyards of Izadi are located un the Rioja Alavesa, in the triangle formed by three villages, Villabuena, Ábalos and Samaniego. - Community Wine Reviews
