Mocha and fleshy sweet cherry on the nose and palate of this luscious medium-bodied satin-smooth red wine from New Zealand made from the classic Pinot Noir grape. Pair with roast chicken. OTHER: It is instantly appealing on the nose displaying red/black cherry, clove, vanilla and cedar characters with nuances of game and floral. The palate is beautifully weighted and richly textured, and delivers loads of delectable flavours, wonderfully framed by polished tannins. The wine offers elegant opulent together with subtle savoury complexity. At its best: now to 2019. Score - 93 (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, Aug. 2016).

Pinot Noir food pairings: lamb tangine, filet mignon of venison, rib steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Lise Charest Gagne rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Tons of elegant layers in this Central Otago Pinot Noir! It's at the high end of the light body wine spectrum but it's not light in flavour! It's not subtle according to winery owners Tim and Rob and I certainly agree. Characteristics of dried strawberries (my ultimate favourite), dark cherries, toasty vanilla while holding its head up high with a great earthy backbone. It's silky, layered, has a faint white pepper finish. Nice silky scarf around your neck on any special night! I'm a big fan of this one!
From the Central Otago on the South Island of New Zealand, Invivo (2014) is spicy, red and black cherry and a touch of vanilla on the nose. Drink now and for the next couple of years. The wine was awarded a Silver Medal, International Wine & Spirits Competition 2016 and a Bronze Medal, New Zealand International Wine Show. - Community Wine Reviews
