Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This wine, from a renowned Prince Edward County Producer, is actually a marriage of grapes from Niagara and PEC. It is approximately 80% Niagara and 20% County.
The Niagara portion gives this wine a soft mouthfeel and a plump body, while the County fruit makes it more structured and with a touch more florality.
It is not a particularly weighty wine. Aromatically complex, though I strongly recommend decanting it to allow it to mellow a bit.
Sunny, cherry red. Soft, with a candied cherry and slightly earthy aroma to start off. Violets and plummier fruit emerge as it opens up.
Energetic and crisp acidity. Red plum, blueberry, and raspberry. Some subtle spice on the finish. Tobacco, smoke, and more earth.
2015 was a vintage of unpredictable swings in the weather. Some of the more tender varietals (like Pinot) were particularly vulnerable. Yields were down, but overall quality of this vintage is good. Wines, such as this one by Huff, show the good sense of having a few wines that are joint Ontario appellation wines (VQA Ontario instead of County or Niagara). You get a representative example of Ontario style; even if the weather keeps you on your toes.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
