Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Pale lemon colour with medium plus aroma intensity featuring peach, apple, yellow plum, vanilla and a touch of creme brûlée and creamy butter scotch. On the palate this evolved into baked apple crumble, honey, delicate lemon curd, ripe pear and a touch of white pepper at the end. Elements of yellow fruit persisting with a buttery note. Medium plus acidity, medium minus body and a medium finish. Dry (2g/L) with a very round and clean buttery mouthfeel. Pair with buttery seared scallops and bacon and creamy clam risotto.

From the Beamsville Bench in the Niagara Escarpment, Hidden Bench Estate (2015), the Chardonnay wine grapes for this wine were 100% organically grown on the estate and were sourced from the Locust Lane, Felseck and Rosomel Vineyards. This Chard is dry, creamy with ripe apple and nutty, smoky flavours. The wine was matured in 100% French oak - 14% new and 27% second use, 45% neutral oak and 14% concrete egg. The wine spent nine months in barrel. - Community Wine Reviews
