Oh, happy cherry pie, welcome to my taste buds. Cinnamon spice sprinkled over my senses. Gorgeous and complex Niagara icewine made from Cabernet grapes. Pair with chocolate cheesecake and a smile.

Cabernet Icewine food pairings: cheesecake, chocolate mousse, crème brûlée, banana-split.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A truly spectacular rare sweet red wine from a local star producer in our own province. Made from grapes that are naturally frozen on the vines before picking. Bright fruity flavours of strawberry-rhubarb pie, luscious without being overly sweet. Try this with Crème Brûlée, or just enjoy sipping it on its own. Makes a terrific gift wine for someone special.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Dark salmon in colour with aromas of honey, strawberries and lychee and tastes like candied strawberries drizzled in honey. It would benefit from more acidity to balance the sweetness but is still an excellent dessert wine. It should be enjoyed on its own or paired with dark chocolate or strawberry cheesecake.
Melanie Aubert rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Lighter-style Ontario icewine with flavours reminiscent of strawberry or cherry popsicle. Not sure it is sweet enough to stand up to uber-sweet desserts but could work with something like cherry strudel.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 82/100 with the following review:

Nice colour, but a little too sweet for my taste...
Presentation: Nice label, though the vine’s colour does not seem to go with the gold writing and gold top
Appearance: Light strawberry red
Nose: Sweet honey, fruity
Taste: Even though I know it’s an icewine, I found it a little too sweet. It tasted of honey and strawberry jam, but was missing a little acidity to balance out the sweetness, like Henry of Pelham’s Riesling Icewine. I suggest you not have it with a sweet dessert.
Finish: Sweet strawberry jam.
Overall impression: If you like really sweet wines, you should like this one.
Value: 1.5 out of 5
Gorgeous blackberry and black raspberry jam aromas on the nose and palate of this Niagara icewine. Great balancing acidity on the palate. Pair with gingerbread cookies. - Community Wine Reviews
