From Short Hills Bench, Niagara Escarpment wine region, Henry of Pelham Estate 2021 Riesling is produced from sustainably grown grapes sourced from vines planted in 1984 at their certified-sustainable winery on the Short Hills Bench. Henry of Pelham was one of the first wineries to plant Mosel Riesling vines in Ontario. Love the low alcohol (less than 10% abv) on this off-dry, lip-smacking Riesling crisp with fresh pear, green apple, ripe peach, lemongrass and grapefruit zest flavours finishing long and tangy. Excellent value at $20. Drink or hold.

Riesling food pairings: smoked salmon and chive cream cheese on baguette, oyster hotpot, mild curries.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
