Heavy clay soils and 30-year-old vines both contribute to incredible depth, flavour and complexity in this vibrant Niagara Riesling. Aromas of lime zest and lemongrass. The grape yield is kept to just 2 tons per acre to concentrate the flavour. It's also press fractioned to use the best juice and whole cluster pressed. A long, satisfying finish. Pair with vegetarian dishes, roast turkey and roast chicken.

Riesling food pairings: briny shrimp, scallops, mussels and clams are great with this wine, roast pork as well as pasta with white sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Refreshing, crisp, complex aromatics. Medium body. Beautiful on the nose and palate. Paired perfectly with Thai green curry, chicken and eggplant. Long finish with persistence of honey, spice, lime zest. Tasted 2016 vintage in May 2018. 92 points #greatvalue
Wineboy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

for those that appreciate the aromas/flavours of more aged Rieslings, Pelham consistently produce Rieslings (at all price points) that seem more aged than their label indicates. This one is no expception. Lovely tree fruit and mineral, all surrounded by a soft petrol aroma that gets my palate going.
Speck Family Reserve 2016 Riesling is medium-bodied with lime-lemon zest, spiced-honey and mineral flavours on the palate. This is a racy, food-friendly Riesling from grapevines planted in 1984. Try it with barbecued chicken and ribs. Enjoy now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews
