Roussillon wines and Gerard Bertrand wines in particular are always good bets for good value. This full-bodied smooth red is produced from Syrah, Grenache and Carignan wine grapes with black plum, white pepper, leather, garrigue herbs, cedar spice aromas on the nose and finishing smoky and long on the palate. Nice now and for the next three years.

Food pairings: rare steak, rustic stew, game pot pie.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Full bodied and smooth blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan. Aromas of plum, black cherry, dried herbs, leather, and smoke. Full bodied, balanced with soft tannins and medium acidity, ripe red berry hints and more dried herbs and smoke on the finish. Enjoy with braised beef short ribs.
Produced by Gérard Bertrand, Tautavel 2018 is a spicy Côtes Du Roussillon, Grenache, Syrah and Carignan red wine blend, vibrant and concentrated with lush cherry, red berry, wild herbs and savoury flavours on the palate. Drink or hold, pair it with duck confit. - Community Wine Reviews
