Gérard Bertrand Heritage 560 2020 is an excellent value Côtes du Roussillon-Villages at $20. Dry and full-bodied, this vibrant red is produced from a blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan grapes sourced from vines growing in pebbly and limestone soils. Look for ripe dark fruits, dark cherry, smoky garrigue herbs and pepper spice flavours concentrated on the palate. Enjoy with roast chicken.

Food pairings: rare steak, rustic stew, game pot pie.

Reviews and Ratings

Gérard Bertrand Heritage 560 2020 is an amazing value Côtes du Roussillon-Villages at $20. Dry and full-bodied, the Grenache, Carignan and Syrah (50%30%20%) grapes for this vibrant red were sourced from vines grown in the limestone and clay soils in the Tautavel region near Spain's border. Fragrant with pink and blue florals, the wine is fresh and seductive with mulberry, blueberry, cracked pepper and wild herb flavours with a lingering finish. Tannins are structured and firm. Enjoy it with roast turkey or a pork tenderloin from the grill. - Community Wine Reviews
