Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is a brilliant ruby red with garnet hue. Declared 14.5% % abv. Cherry, bacon, baking spice and blackberry aromatics. On the palate cherry, blackberry, earthy minerality, all spice and a hint of pink grapefruit. This wine shows typicity of a new world cool climate Pinot noir. Medium plus acidity, tannins, fruit concentration. Well balanced and integrating. Dry, Mouthfeel silky and mouthwatering. Pair this with bacon-wrapped BBQ sirloin steaks or bacon beer PEI mussels. Tasted April 2016 @bespoketastings @jonsteeves Drink now or Enjoy 2016-2018.
The Sonoma region of the Russian River Valley is renowned for its cool, fog-laden morning that warm up and burn off with the afternoon sun. This moderation in temperatures from the Pacific Ocean allow the grapes to ripen slowly to great complexity. Some of the vines for this wine grow fewer than 16 km from the Ocean. The Frei Brothers Reserve is worth trying. - Community Wine Reviews
