Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Featherstone's Red Tail Merlot pays homage to the winery's use of eco-friendly falconry to protect their (sweet and delicious) crop from swarms of vineyard devouring birds. As a key feature of their sustainable practices, Featherstone Estate Winery happens to be the only Ontario winery to embrace this natural crop management technique as part of their overall vineyard management.

2019 Red Tail is 100% Merlot from Featherstone Vineyard in the Niagara Peninsula. It's an easy-going and very approachable red that showcases Featherstone's soft and fruity Merlot with tangy cherry, plum, pepper, and herbs persisting. Enjoy Red Tail in the near term with BBQ fare, Autumn harvest meals, or simply on its own. Tasted August 2021. 88 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
