Faust 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot added. The blended wine was, aged for over a year and a half in 30% new French oak barrels. This is the magnum-size of this full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with wine grapes mostly sourced from the Coombsville estate vineyard with ripe blackberries, black currants, underbrush, earthy blue florals and wild herb flavours on the palate. Tannins are grippy and there is great acidity for food. Drink or hold in cellar for about 10 years. Pair a grilled Tomahawk steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: pork roast, vegetarian stew, slow-roasted beef long ribs.

Reviews and Ratings

This is the 1500 ml size of Faust 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Coombsville AVA in Napa Valley, California. The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller portions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged for 19 months in 30% new French oak. Full-bodied and bold with blackberry, dark plum, wild herbs, underbrush and cedar spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm, grippy and there is great acidity for food on this incredible deep ruby red wine that will live long. Pair with a charred, well-marbled steak done rare. - Community Wine Reviews
