The 2010 vintage of the Brunello di Montalcino is full of character. Mature aromas of leather, violets and truffles. Smooth and medium-bodied. Contemplative wine. Dark fruit aromas with cigar box and a long finish. Decant 2 hours. Pair with game dishes or rack of lamb.

Brunello Di Montalcino food pairings: rack of lamb, ravioli, beef stew.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Medium-bodied with a rugged outdoors-man nose. Earthy, herbal bordering on medicinal, dried fruit, lift of cologne, leather and sweet cigar smoke. Handsome with some rough edges so suggest decanting prior to enjoying .Perfect for this time of year as nights get longer and colder paired with hearty comfort foods. I'd like to try this wine in 10 years.
Tasted: October 2016
The 2010 vintage of the Brunello di Montalcino is savoury, floral with fine, grippy tannins. This wine could stand a half-dozen years of aging in cellar, but if you do drink now, decant for an hour and pair with wild boar. The wine is made from Sangiovese grapes. - Community Wine Reviews
