Reviews and Ratings

Lise Charest Gagne rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

It’s a rainy night up north so sipping by the wood stove!! This full body cabernetsauvignon has some bell pepper yes I said that. It’s a bit strange but it seems to cut the typical heaviness out. It’s got some dark cassis, ripe blackberries on the nose. It’s heady and has some volatile alcohol if you like that not surprising at 14.5%. Stewed dark berries with some hints of vanilla and a heavy bitter dark chocolate finish. I like the tannic structure here. It wasn’t the best with my Caprese mushrooms though. It’s a decent wine for the price but very different from most this area. A good pair might be a rich prime-rib with some garlic mash. @AdirondackChairwinereviews
Fabre Montmayou 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva is a dry, medium-plus-bodied Argentinean red, elegant with layers of dark fruit, black currant, red berry and smoky flavours on the palate. Tannins have a nice grip to them. Firm but manageable. Wine grapes are sourced from Lujan de Cuyo wine region. Pair with a grilled bavette steak or meat-stuffed Portobello mushrooms. - Community Wine Reviews
