Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Smooth and balanced. Medium plus acidity, mouthwatering and fresh. Lemongrass and savoury. Paired well with filet of sole and lime zested Thai jasmine rice. Tasted 2015 vintage in April 2018. 91 points
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Vinified by winemaker, Jenny Wagner in an effort to reduce any overly green characters. Soft and delicate this Sauvignon Blanc is full of yellow apple fruit, floral blossoms, citrus, lemon curd, cilantro and stony graphite minerals. Medium plus acidity with a light crisp body and finish. Incredibly well integrated 14% ABV. Very light, crisp and clean! A well balanced an perfect accompaniment with dill fresh fish with lemon, or herbed chicken. 90 points - tasted May 2018
Somm4All WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A great introduction to what a California Sauvignon Blanc can be, this tasty example from Napa Valley proves there is much more to this grape variety than pungent gooseberry and racy herbaceous tones. Delicious aromas of ripe lime, fresh melon and wet stone stand out, with flavours of lemon-lime, peach, melon, light herb and stone minerality on the palate. Winemaker Jenny Wagner does a wonderful job balancing the 14% alcohol level while keeping a snappy and citrusy profile and light-plus. This is a food friendly wine that seems to pay a little “homage” to White Bordeaux – enjoy a glass (or better yet, a bottle) with grilled white fish or herb crusted pork tenderloin.
Devlon rated this wine as 80/100 with the following review:

Bright and clean, unremarkable but tasty.
From Napa Valley, California, Emmolo, Sauvignon Blanc (2015) is almost water-white in the glass with ripe pear and grassy aromas on the nose. Dry and zesty on the palate with lime/lemon zest flavours finishing flinty and spicy. The name "Emmolo" is from Jenny Wagner's great-grandfather, Salvatore Emmolo, who immigrated from Italy to Rutherford and started a grapevine rootstock nursery. - Community Wine Reviews
