Natalie's Score: 90/100

This voluptuous Californian Chardonnay is loaded with butterscotch and toffee notes from oak aging. A gorgeous richness and full-bodied weight on the palate. A long, smoky finish. Terrific! Edna Valley is inland but not from the Pacific Ocean and the mountain gap enables cooling ocean breezes to flow into the valley in an east/west (transverse) direction. Pair with roast chicken.

Chardonnay food pairings: scallops with a sesame ginger dressing, spinach and pepper jack stuffed chicken, pasta with tomato sauce, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a full-on California Chardonnay. Rich, robust and creamy with aromas and flavours of tropical fruit, apple , toffee, butter, floralvanilla and cedar. The acidity is medium+ while the finish is lingering and honeyed. True price performer at $20.
Rich Chardonnay pairing made easy with lobster in butter, deep fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, seafood linguine in cream sauce.
Tasted: February 2015
This robust Californian Chardonnay sources grapes from one of California's longest and coolest growing seasons, thanks to the sea breezes the funnel inland through the Edna Valley. Lusciously layered and aromatic with a crisp, clean finish. - Community Wine Reviews
