The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape is a robust southern French red wine blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre grapes. The wine was aged 24 months in large oak barrels (foudre) before bottling. The 2010 vintage of this Châteauneuf du Pape is robust and fully flavoured with blackberry liqueur and smoke. Complex, rich, deep and long on the finish. A real wow wine that would be a great gift. Pair with roast beef.

Châteauneuf-Du-Pape food pairings: roast beef and all the trimmings, gorgonzola and other blue cheeses, lamburgers.

A great expression with many layers. Medicinal raspberry bubblegum, caramle, mocha, leather, forest floor, clove and baking spices.

A real Beauty!

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Delightful moderate aromas give way to a massively flavourful fruit forward palate. Lastings flavours include cherry, plum and spice. Medium bodied and well-balanced acidity and tannins. Pair with spicy sausage jambalaya. Tasted Dec 2016 - @somsossa | bespoketasings.ca
This splendid Châteauneuf du Pape by E. Guigal is loaded with dark cherry, cassis, and spice. Marcel and his son Philippe follow in Marcel's father's footstep, founder Etienne Guigal who made wine for 67 vintages. The motto of this winery is "Hard work reaps rewards." The wine blend for this CNDP is 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. - Community Wine Reviews
