Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby red with a slight garnet hue, the 2009 Chateauneuf-Du-Pape by E. Guigal has such a complex nose that just keeps delivering waves of new delicious aromas. Baking spice, blueberry, blackberry, kirsch, charcoal, tar, and leather. Rich and complex, this full bodied wine is smooth and so polished with luscious fruit that leads to a long ripe and savoury finish. Enjoy with charcoal grilled beef and roasted veggies. Tasted April 2015. 94 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A succulent deep ruby colour with good legs on the glass. This is a robust and gamey CdP complimented with dark cherry, cassis, raspberry, barnyard, leather, dried herbs de Provence, smoke and cedar. Medium+ cleansing acidity with a lingering stewed cherry finish. This is a smooth as silk full-bodied wine. Enjoy with finer cuts of red meat.
