A terrific red wine at an amazingly great price! Robust, juicy and bursting with fleshy ripe black fruit flavours, spice and toasty oak. A party pleaser, both for the guest and your budget. A robust blend of 40% Touriga Franca, 25% Touriga Nacional and 35% field blend (mixed native grapes). Produced by the Symington family from grapes that originally supplied the House of Dow for port. Pair with grilled steak.

Food pairings: herb roasted lamb, beef, venison, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Full bodied, balanced, ripe field berry and baking spice. Tangy, with medium acidity, medium plus tannins. Approachable, and accessibly priced. Crowd pleasing appeal. Pairs well with gourmet burgers, charcuterie and easily enjoyable on its own. Tasted 2015 vintage decanted 2h in Feb 2018. 89 points. #GreatValue
Produced by Symington Family Estates, well-known for their ports, Vale Do Bomfim (2015) is a medium-bodied, elegant red blend of 40% Touriga Franca, 25% Touriga Nacional and 35% local red wine grapes from the upper Douro. Look for ripe red berry flavours, matched with vibrant acidity. Great price point as well. - Community Wine Reviews
