Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This Sangiovese knows how to turn heads. It has stacks of aromas like ripe strawberries and raspberries, savoury spices, pressed flowers, cinnamon and cedar wood.

Its flavours - layered, dynamic and endless - evoke ripe berries and cherries plus savoury spices and leather. Some supple tannins add structure as well as round out this delicious tasting experience.

Reviewed July 2021
Donatella Cinelli Colombini 2013 Brunello Di Montalcino is a savoury and vibrant Brunello from the Tuscany wine region with pink florals, sour cherry, cloves, earthy and smoky flavours on the palate. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine are planted in clay and stone soils. In 1592, Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s ancestors already owned Casato. They would come here to go hunting and to spend their honeymoons. Casato belonged to Donatella's grandmother, who passed it on to Donatella’s mother, who passed it on to her daughter, Violante. - Community Wine Reviews
