From the Côtes Catalanes in the Roussillon wine region, Domaine Lafage is a savoury and juicy Grenache Noir with a ripe, liquid cherry nose, dry and rich with black cherry liqueur, crushed raspberry, savoury spice wrapped up in a veil of smoke. Vibrant acidity for food and tannins are well-integrated.

Grenache Noir food pairings: turkey, soft cheese, roasted beef, lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Strawberry and cherry jam nose, all about those ripe fruity aromas. The fruit on the palate is similar but fresher with traces of oak spice. Fair acidity and decently grippy tannins lend style and structure to this full bodied Grenache. One-fifth of the wine saw 10 months of French oak, instilling the pleasant spice that accents the long and fruity finish. Good value for a quality old vines red. Enjoy with beef and pork empanadas or baked brie with sundried tomatoes and bacon bits.
An old-vines Grenache Noir from Domaine Lafage. Cuvée Nicolas 2017 is produced from 100% Grenache with bright red berry fruit aromas on the nose, juicy and medium-plus-bodied with concentrated black cherry, raspberry, dark berry, baking spice, white pepper and earthy flavours on the palate. Well-crafted and great value under $20. Enjoy now and for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews
