Bastide Miraflors 2019 is a juicy Old Vines red wine blend of Grenache and Syrah sourced from the Côtes du Roussillon wine region. Full-bodied, plushy and vibrant on the palate with ripe dark berry, toasty oak spice, wild herbs and meaty flavours with a vibrant finish. Tannins are structured and pleasantly grippy. Very approachable now, but can easily hold in cellar for three years.

Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache, from vines averaging 55 years of age, from the Côtes du Roussillon. The wine is deep ruby coloured, full bodied, medium plus tannin with medium acidity, very well balanced and dry. The wine has a pronounced aroma of juicy, not overripe, blackberries, and blackcurrant, strong floral notes of rose and violet , black pepper and black licorice. The aromas repeat on the palate. Very pleasant to drink on its own; my friends and i accompanied it with Swiss beef (Buendnerfleisch) and hard cheddar;other smoked dried beef would be good too.
Trent Mayers rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

If you ask about old vines in the wine world, all will all agree that they produce superior fruit that makes better-quality wine. Here we have an example from South West France. A blend with beautifully deep flavours, but dry, with full on sweet dried strawberry, blackberry, plum, cigar box, vanilla, and incense with a lingering finish. The robust nature allows it to go with equally robust foods like lamb, chorizo, or empanadas.
4 stars out of 5
Bastide Miraflors 2019 is a juicy Old Vines red wine blend of 70% Syrah with the balance in Grenache grapes sourced from vines averaging 55 years of age from the Côtes du Roussillon wine region. A well-crafted red wine blend rich, robust and intense on the palate with blackberry, dark berry, toasted spice, wild herbs and gamey notes textured on the palate. Pour with grilled chorizo sausage or empanadas. Drink or hold. - Community Wine Reviews
