Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 96/100 with the following review:

This unforgettable Cab blend was made from hand-picked grapes, 67% Cab Sauv, 20% Merlot, 10% Cab Franc and 3% Syrah. Matured in mainly French new oak barrels. The state-of-the-art Col Solare winery allows the winemaker a variety of techniques to create the desired final blend, including the flexibility to pick every vineyard block at the optimal time when the grapes have the precise "ripeness zone".
This is a rich and elegant full-bodied wine, very expressive, with aromatic dark berries and fruit, tobacco and licorice on the lingering finish. Still a wee bit tight, so could benefit from cellaring, up to 10 years. Shows the characteristic silky texture that makes Col Solare wines such a pleasure to drink. Terrific gift wine for a collector.

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Holy WOW! This wine is drinking tremendously well right now. What a remarkable polished fruity and floral red by Col Solare. This wine shows developing flavours of plum, chocolate, dates, leather and anise. The palate is silky smoothly with scrumptious acidity and silky smooth integrated tannins. This full-bodied and elegant red is still showing incredible potential for ageing (cellar through 2020-2023). Enjoy pairing with braised lamb. Tasted Nov 2016 - @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
