A classic California, Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cab Franc added to the blend. Smoky and earthy with dark berry, plum, sweet tobacco leaf and flinty flavours, fleshy and full-bodied on the palate. Tannins are fine and velvety.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: roast Tomahawk rib steak with sautéed mushrooms, grilled venison steak, roast pheasant.

Reviews and Ratings

From the Stags Leap District, Napa Valley wine region, Cliff Lede 2017 is a robust red wine blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot. Smoky on the nose with ripe dark plum, cherry liqueur, dried sweet tobacco leaf and fine herb flavours rich and full on the palate. Tannins are firm and grippy. Pour with a well-marbled rib steak or cellar for 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews
