Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This wine is sensational, simply outstanding - the well known and respected producer in Napa Valley has hit this one out of the park - Cliff Lede is a Canadian born Bordeaux enthusiast and since establishing the winery in 2002 has been creating some absolutely divine wine with his Old World meets New World strategy. Grapes for this wine were sourced from several vineyards in the Stags Leap District - most notably from the rocky terraces of Poetry vineyard and the ancient riverbed alluvial soils of the Twin Peaks vineyard. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (80%), Petit Verdot (9%) and Cabernet Franc (5%) with a splash of Malbec (4%) and Merlot (2%). The nose is spectacular and delightfully complex - red fruit, lavender, oak, blackcurrants and licorice intertwine with elegant flavors of blueberry, black cherry, cinnamon, smoke - the tannins are silky and refined with a notable lengthy finish.
Cliff Lede (2014) is a Cabernet Sauvignon from the Stags Leap District in the Napa Valley of California. This is a big wine at 14.9% abv. Practically purple in the glass the 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and supporting 9% Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc with the balance in Malbec and Merlot gives a lot of dimension, and length to this black fruit, black currant with a touch of anise. Decant for two hours prior to serving or hold in cellar for another 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
