Reviews and Ratings
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: This tasty Fumé Blanc from the heart of Sonoma County has hints of grass and pear on the nose. Its' refreshing flavours of lemon, apple and ginger linger in the mouth. It is lower in acidity and would be great on its own or with mild seafood or cheese.
Astrid Young - Sommelier ISG CAPS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Soft beeswax aromas on the nose, very subtle and tight on the nose overall. Smoky notes initially on the palate, with lots of limestone mineral acidity, showing where it comes from gradually - the balance and texture overall show it to be a well made wine, but i suspect another couple of years of cellar time would not hurt. also a vigorous decant might shake it up; in the meantime, enjoy with game charcuterie like elk or bison, you can't go wrong!
Shelley Harris rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: A fruity aroma full of lemon and pineapple and a smooth spicy aftertaste. Besides being a good stand alone wine, I paired this wine with a seafood dinner of calamari salad and a shrimp pasta in a creamy bechamel sauce.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: A cool mix of fresh apricots, wildflower honey, pink grapefruit and hints of grassy aromas and flavours. More honeyed lemon comes through on the palate but a balanced blend nonetheless. Zingy acidity and buttery smooth mouthfeel - medium bodied white. Definitely try pairing this with seafood chowder!
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: Rich medium lemon colour with tempting aromas and flavours of apple, pear, peach lemon zest, ginger, vanilla, toffee, smoke and a little catty. Medium(-) body;Medium(-) acidity. Refreshing change from heavily oaked Califoria Chardonnay. Perfect for seafood, chicken, or on it's own. Drink now. Tasted: November 8, 2014
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: Light in colour, and pleasing to the nose. Light hints of apple and pear. Slightly acidic on the tongue. Nice finish. This wine would pair well with light cheeses, poultry or light creamy pastas.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review: Light, delicate aromas of pear, very light oak and smoke, lemon and pineapple. Soft citrus on the palate, with a bit of lemon zest on the finish. I think this would be a great seafood wine, maybe scallops.
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review: Some nice aromas of lemon and pears, with some very fine smoke and flinty minerality. The mouth feel is velvety and smooth with hints of lemon and minerality again. For the price this is a good value fume blanc.
