Lovely full-bodied Cru Bourgeois from the Medoc wine region. Dark plum, rich cherry, fresh herbs and smoky on the nose and palate. The 2014 vintage received 2 out of 3 stars in the 2018 edition of Le Guide Hachette des Vins.

Food pairings: veal chops, barbecued veal chops in red wine sauce, strong cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Big and expressive nose with cherry and red berries leaping from the glass before toasty vanilla and cocoa add to the mix. Tannins are quite firm but fine-grained and smooth. Fruit and oak balanced and complementary on the palate. Agreeable and approachable, but best with a little more aging. Drink in the early 2020's with pork tenderloin, shepherd's pie, or medium cheeses.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Well made Cru Bourgeois, Chateau Pierre de Montignac 2014, from the Medoc AOC region, shows aromas of black berry, black cherry, violet, tobacco leaf, wet gravel, incense and cedar. A blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, give this wine a medium body, well dosed tannins, and a light and dry finish. Palate: blueberry, plum, bay leaf, graphite, baking spices, dill and cedar. Enjoy.
Château Pierre De Montignac 2014 is a well-priced Cru Bourgeois from the Médoc, Bordeaux wine region. Still quite youthful, with bright red berry, dark spice flavours. Enjoy now and for the next eight years. This vintage was awarded 2 out of 3 stars in the 2018 edition of Le Guide Hachette des Vins. - Community Wine Reviews
