Natalie's Score: 90/100

This is a robust southern French red wine blend of 60% Tannat and 40% Cabernet grapes. Château Peyros is fragrant with earthy violets and ripe blackberry fruit aromas. Ripe black fruit, savoury and dark spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm. Decant for an hour prior to pouring with a stuffed roast flank steak, or tame in cellar for another year or two.

Tannat Cabernet Franc food pairings: rare grilled meats, game dishes, sausage cassoulet.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Chateau Peyros, located in the South-West of France in the Madiran region, offers a lovely wine crafted from 60% Tannat and 40% Cabernet Franc. The 2014 Chateau Peyros, show aromas of sour cherry, raspberry, dried herbs, jalapeños, cocoa and cedar. Medium body with chewy tannins, the wine displays great quality and food pairing potential. The combination of Tannat and Cabernet Franc delivers savors of tart plum, tart cherry, dried herbs, wet gravel, coffee and oak. Enjoy!
Alan Dunne rated this wine as 90/100
Rich and concentrated Tannat and Cabernet Franc sourced from the Madiran Wine Region. Château Peyros 2014 is a well-priced, full-bodied red with ripe dark fruit and tanned leather aromas on the nose. Rich dark fruit, black raspberry and sweet cake spice on the palate. Finishes long and savoury. Decant two hours prior to pouring with a grilled steak, or hold in cellar to mellow for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews
