Reviews and Ratings

Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Made from the Chenin Blanc grape variety, a wine with lots of personality and charm. Produced in traditional method, which is the same winemaking technique used to make Champagne. Matured at least 20 months in the bottle before “degorgement” (removal of yeast deposit created from second fermentation). Savoury, yeast and spice on the palate with high acidity, lime notes and a nutty finish. Very good for its price as are many sparkling Vouvrays. A smart alternative to Champagne when you don’t feel like spending more than $20 per bottle, and visually it also looks quite “fancy”, which doesn’t hurt either...
Chateau Moncontour Cuvee Predilection Brut is indeed a zesty sparkling Vouvray from the Loire wine region. Great value on this bubble made in the traditional method. Produced from 100% Chenin Blanc, this bubble is marzipan and spicy on the nose. On the palate, the mousse is creamy with honeyed almond and apple compote flavours. Drink now and often. - Community Wine Reviews
