A gorgeous, plush, full-bodied Italian red wine. This Amarone is made using the traditional appassimento style of drying the grapes on straw mats before fermentation to concentration the flavour, weight and alcohol of the finished wine. Aromas of black cherry liqueur, smoke and spice. Pair with roast beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Ormal rated this wine as 100/100
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This deep ruby coloured Amarone starts off with an earthy, forest floor kind of nose. Mushrooms and pepper waft out of the glass until it opens up to release cherries and other dark fruits. Lovely, silky mouthfeel, clean and spicy on the palate. There is just a hint of sourness on the finish which is long and spicy. I expected this to be bolder and need food to offset said boldness but it is actually very well balanced and elegant. Tannins are very fine and tamed. Delicious with salty cheese and chocolate. Tasted January 2019
