Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Bright ruby red. 2009 vintage tasted Jan 2017 opened for an hour before tasting. Declared 14.5% ABV and showed well integrated alcohol. Layers of red and black berries, savoury herb, tobacco leaf, and a hint of orange. Well-structured with medium plus tannins, medium plus acidity, and well balanced. Paired exceptionally well with braised beef lasagna and equally well with an aged cheese platter with speck and crustini. Drinking well on it's own likewise. Priced to offer exceptional value. This wine offers a taste of the storied process of air drying the Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara varietals and extracting the first free run juice after fermentation and pressing. Wow!
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Rich, plump, sweet and spicy! A classic complex Amarone with layers upon layers of dried fig, dark plum, dried date, sweet baking spice, leather, cedar and sweet anise. Enjoy this balance, value-priced (for an Amarone), full-bodied Italian beauty with braised beef short rib. Tasted Jan 2017 - @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
